Wow, this is one awesome collaboration. The eclectic and multi-talented Beck sounds totally at home here over a bouncy synth beat from Electronic dance giants The Chemical Brothers. The first half of the track is a smooth and playful with repeated mantras of “I’m wide open” and “It’s getting away from me”. However, halfway through the track, Beck busts out the bridge of:
One day just gonna see me
Look back and forth from the ceiling
(I’m wide open)
Some day love’s gonna hurt me
Turn back and soon I’ll believe it
Then out of nowhere the track turns into an all out banger!
The new record Born Of Echoes is out now and also features collaborations with St Vincent, Cate Le Bon and a reunion with Q-Tip who collaborated with The Chemical Brothers on the 2005 hit Galvanize.
